More About Me

Background

I am a combination of a native Texan father and a Canadian mother. The middle child of three siblings, our working-class parents taught us to “always do your best and help others” through their words and actions. They encouraged us to get a college degree and made sure we understood its importance.  Our parents were not able to pay for our college, but were so encouraging and supportive, I was able to work and pay my way to a BS in Physics at Sam Houston State University and a BS in Engineering at Texas A&M. After graduating, I joined Hewlett Packard (now Keysight Technologies) in sales, selling test equipment to engineers who were creating new technology. I used my engineering background to help my clients be successful developing electronic product designs and bringing them to market.

A big move!

I enjoyed the business aspects of the job as well, so when my Husband and I transferred to Baltimore, I went back to school. This time for an MBA at Loyola, nicely paid for by HP. I was awarded the top salesperson when I landed a multi-million dollar deal that management was convinced couldn’t get done. I was promoted to sales management and my husband and I were happily back in Texas. If you go to Baltimore, I can tell you where the best crabs are!

Family Matters

While I was in management, we expanded our home with three kids, who are now grown. I decided to retire, sold the family house and refurbished a small home in South Austin. After the house was finished, I realized how much I missed working with people and helping them be amazingly successful. And, according to family internal discussions without me, our grown kids were telling my husband, “Dad, Mom needs to get a job.” Apparently, I don’t do well staying at home.

Loving being a Realtor!

I care about a great outcome for my clients. They teach me to see though their eyes and use my knowledge along with the incredible team at JBG.
